Political Ideas of Yi-zhuan

Zhou-yi is the oldest literature of the ancient culture in China. It is composed of Yi-jing and Yi-zhuan. Yi-jing is the book used by ancient people to tell between what is lucky and what is unlucky, while Yi-zhuan is the oldest among those works which made Yi-jing, philosophicaland its main feature lies in its embodiment of the simple dialectical philosophy about Yin and Yang. The natural law of contradiction, unity and movement in cosmos is demonstrated in terms of the categorization of the contradiction between Yin and Yang. The author of Yi-zhuan made full use of the dialectical view and took it as their philosophical basis of political relations and ruling approaches, building the ruling order of dignity and abjectness and the conception of taking action in terms of transformation of condition and attention to harmony.
