Abstract

Objective To explore relationship between the expression of survivin gene and clinical pathological factors in cervical squamous cell carcinoma and study the clinical significance of survivin gene. Methods Immunohistochemical PV method was used to determine the expression of survivin gene in 54 cervical squamous cell carcinoma tissues and 16 normal cervical tissues. The relationship between the expression and clinical pathology was analyzed. Results Expression of survivin were not observed in normal cervical tissues. There is relationship between survivin gene expression in cervical squamous cell carcinoma and age, clinical stage, lymph node metastases. Conclusion The stable expression of survivin in cervical squamous cell carcinoma indicates that the tumor has high invasion and poor prognosis. The expression of Survivin gene may become the effective index to forecast the invasion of cervical squamous cell carcinoma, judge prognosis, and instruct the clinical treatment.
