Impact of Land Consolidation on the Cultivated Land Quality

The purpose of this study is to make a research into the impact of land consolidation projects on the regional cultivated land quality.Based on a large number of sample data,the method of induction was employed in this study.The results indicate that the contribution of land consolidation to increasing the cultivated land quality is significant;nevertheless,contributions of land consolidation projects in different areas vary greatly.As the result of land consolidation,the quality of cultivated land in middle and low grades increases much more significantly,and that in high grades increases less.Thus,the land consolidation has become the main driving force to increase the regional cultivated land quality.Suggestions provided include:(1)the quality management of land consolidation projects should be enhanced,and the improvement of cultivated land quality should be set as the required target in the approval,acceptance and examination of land consolidation projects;(2)the consolidation and rehabilitation projects should give priority to concentrated cultivated land in middle and low grades;(3)the capital investment should be assured and increased for the accomplishment of the land consolidation work.
