On Mao You and Mao Xian's Poetry Notes from Reading the Complete Collection of Song Poems

Abstract

Mao You and Mao Xian(father and son) are famous writers in the Song Dynasty.The Complete Collection of Song Poems has some mistakes about their birthplace and their names.Mao You and the excellent poets He Zhu,Chen Ke,and Cheng Ju are friends.Mao Xian also gets along well with Yang Wan Li,Lu You,Han Yuanji,Zhu Xi,and You Mao.Mao You's poems have obvious meaning of satirizing and hermit feelings.His poems are full of life philosophy.Comparing with his father,Mao Xian poetry obviously has orthodox characteristic.We can feel that his poems are very charmful in their fragmentary poems.
