On the Relations between the Yuefu Songs in Ming Dynasty and the Social Environment

The writing of Yuefu songs in Ming Dynasty can be divided into different periods. At earlier stage Yuefu songs boomed ,then there were almost no Yuefu songs from Yongle to Xuande. But Yuefu songs flourished again at middle stage . This stage of Yuefu-songs-writing had something to do not only with changing of public morals but also with transforming of literary concept. The Yuefu songs at earlier stage reflected social lives deeply. At middle stage poets wrote Yuefu songs to exhibit their self-consciousness.
