Abstract

Objective: To observe the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion on the colonic expressions of TNF-αand IL-10mRNA in crohn's disease(CD)rats. Methods :The rats which were set up into CD's model were randomly divided into four groups including normal control group(NC),model control group(MC),herbs-partition moxibustion group(HPM)and electroapuncture group(EA).Tianshu(ST25,bilateral)and Qihai(RN6)were used in HPM and EA separately. The expressions of TNF-αand IL-10mRNA in colonic mucosa of CD rats were observed by situ hybridization. Results :The expressions of TNF-αand IL-10mRNA were markedly increased in CD rats compared with normal rats, and decreased significantly after herbs-partition moxibustion or electropuncture treatment. Conclusion :Acupuncture- moxibustion therapy can relieve or eliminate the intestinal inflammation maybe through effectively restraining the colonic expression of TNF-αmRNA, regulating the balance between IL-10mRNA and TNF-αmRNA in CD rats.
