Abstract
Objective To study the variation of blood concentration of amitriptyline and its effect on prognosis in patients with amitriptyline intoxication.Methods Thirty eight patients with amitriptyline intoxication were involved and some of them were performed with hemoperfusion besides the conventional therapy.The serum concentration of amitriptyline was measured with reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography on admission and 3 h after hospitalization.Results The serum concentration of amitriptyline was significantly decreased from(0.75±0.21)μg/mL to(0.32±0.14)μg/mL after hemoperfusion.The symptoms and signs of severe amitriptyline intoxication were obviously improved.Conclusion Hemoperfusion can eliminate serum amitripyline effectively.
