Abstract

Mass spectrometry is one of the most important scientific methods that can provide substance structure information. Mass spectrometric ionization method is a key and core technology for mass spectrometric analysis, and the successful development of new type ion source will greatly promote the development of mass spectrometry technology. In recent years, ambient ionization mass spectrometric technique for direct analysis is a newly developed method, which can directly perform the analysis on the original sample without pretreatment. This technique has been employed in the analysis of various samples such as liquid, aerosol, solid surface and viscous samples. In this paper, the working principle and technical characteristics in the analysis of real samples using several ambient ionization methods such as the Desorption Electrospray Ionization( DESI),Direct Analysis in Real Time( DART), Atmospheric Solids Analysis Probe( ASAP), Extractive Electrospray Ionization( EESI) and Dielectric Barrier Discharge Ionization( DBDI) were described. Besides, the present applications of these techniques were briefly summarized.
