Analysis on Regional Differences and Determinants Of Urbanization Progress in Xinjiang

The urbanization process develops very unevenly in the cities and regions of Xinjiang.This inequality depends on its level of economic development and the extent of three industries.Using the imbalance index of urbanization,taking 15 cities and regions in Xinjiang as the basic unit,this essay discusses the regional urbanization differences between urbanization and the indicators.And it probes into the inherent relations between the urbanization and other determinants by regression analy-sis.At last,it becomes to some important conclusion: the mode and the important position of agriculture has hampered the ur-banization development of Xinjiang,industry has become the main driving force of development of urbanization in the northern and eastern of Xinjiang,the promoting role of tertiary industry on the development of urbanization in Xinjiang is still weak.
