Abstract

The emergency water supply project for Beijing-Shijiazhuang section in Mid-route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project starts from the underdrain intake of the ancient canal in Shijianzhuang to the Lake Tuancheng in Beijing with a total water transfer distance of 307 km.The key technical problems during both the design and the construction are: engineering problems from pre-stress cylinder concrete pipe(PCCP);construction technique of crossing Wukesong Subway Station,Express Way and Cloverleaf Junctions of West Fourth Ring Road;application of large canal concrete paver;design of large discharge 3-D pre-stressed water conveyance aqueduct and the control measures for cracking of the aqueduct body.
