Abstract
Reliable transport protocol TCP is tuned to perform well in wired networks where packet losses occur mostly because of congestion.However,wireless networks suffer from significant losses due to bit errors and handoffs.TCP responds to all losses by invoking congestion control,resulting in degraded end to end performance in wireless networks.This paper present a new congestion control mechanism based on neural network.Simulation results show that this new mechanism results in significant TCP performance improvements over wireless network.
