Study on The Selection of Xinjiang's Leading Industry and The Identification of Its Industrial Chain

The selection and development of the leading industry is an important part of the regional economic development strategy and the industrial policy,which has an impact on the development direction and prospect of the regional economy in the future.According to general principles of the leading industry development,this paper adopts the factor analysis method,consider the reality and existing problems of Xinjiang's industrial development and then propose a criterion to select regional leading industry.In addition, it establishes a multi-object leading industry layer selection model and selects Xinjiang's leading industry on the basis of this model.Finally,it reveals the functional linkage between the regional leading industry and the industries related to it on the basis of input-output tables and the industrial chain theory. Furthermore,it shows a new idea which focus on the leading industry and developing industrial chain to promote the rapid development of Xinjiang's industry.This study shows that Xinjiang's government should invest more capital and make use of more technology to promote the development of the metal smelting and rolling industrial chain,oil processing,coking processing industrial chain and the chemical industry production chain,so that will be helpful to solve the problems of the Xinjiang's asymmetric industrial structure and low processing.
