Abstract
Modern education has become a principal form in the evolution of the Chinese history of education.The modern Chinese education,symbolized by the changes of academy to school in 1901,consecutive curricula of 1902,1904 and abolishing of imperial examinations in 1905,has undergone the phases of opium war,foreign affairs,reform,new deal,and the May 4th new culture campaigns,and adapted to the progress of the Chinese social modernization.The formation is attributable to complicated forces.
