Demonstrated analysis on the consumption structure between urban and rural residents in Shaanxi Province

Using the extended linear expenditure system(ELES),analysis was conducted on change of the consumption structure between urban and rural residents in Shaanxi Province from 1999 to 2008.The results show that the consumption structure of urban and rural residents in Shaanxi Province is obviously improved,but the general level is still very low as the consumption trend of the residents is generally low.Commuting,communication,culture,education and entertainment are the ultimate demand for urban and rural residents.Some significant proposals are put forward for stimulating the consumption demands and optimizing the consumption structure of urban and rural resident in Shaanxi Province.
