Comparison of clinical effect of arthroscopic debridement alone and arthroscopic debridement combined with injection of sodium hyaluronate for knees osteoarthritis

【Objective】 To observe the clinical effect of arthroscopic debridement alone and arthroscopic debridement combined with injection of sodium hyaluronate in treatment of osteoarthritis of knees,and to compare the effects of two treatments.【Methods】 From Jun.2003 ～ Dec.2008 558 cases of osteoarthritis of knees,251 cases used arthroscopic debridement alone,other 307 cases used arthroscopic debridement combined with injection of sodium hyaluronate were analyzed.【Results】 The two groups were followed-up for 6～70 months with an average of 36.5 months.the excellent and good rate of the knee joint function was 93.6% in arthroscopic debridement combined with injection of sodium hyaluronate group,but it was 79.2% in arthroscopic debridement group;According to the Lequesne index scores,there was a significant difference(P 0.05) before and after treatment in two groups,but in 24 month after treatment,the clinical effect of arthroscopic debridement combined with injection of sodium hyaluronate in treatment of osteoarthritis of knees was better than arthroscopic debridement alone.【Conclusion】 Application of arthroscopic debridement combined with injection of sodium hyaluronate in treatment of osteoarthritis of knees can clearly raise clinical effect,it is worthy to be popularized.
