Research on Distribution of Traditional Chinese Medical Syndromes in Advanced Ovarian Cancer Patients

Abstract

Objective:The distribution of traditional Chinese medical syndromes in advanced ovarian cancer patients was studied for supplying evidence of syndrome differentiation.Methods:Based on the syndromes diagnosis standard,the methods for eight-principle,qi-blood,zang-fu-organ syndrome differentiation were adopted to the analysis of clinical data of 63 ovarian cancer outpatients admitted from January to December of 2012 in Guang'anmen Hospital Affiliated to China Academy of Chinese Medicine.The differentiation of one single syndrome firstly and then multi-syndrome was conducted,and related variables were analyzed finally.Results:The results showed that 128 syndromes were presented.The percentage of blood stasis syndrome(26.56%) and the percentage of qi deficiency syndrome(23.44%) differed from that of blood deficiency(12.50%),qi stagnation(11.72%),yin deficiency(11.72%),phlegm dampness(7.81%) and yang deficiency(6.25%),the difference being significant(P0.01).The complex syndromes accounted for 82.54%,of which bi-syndromes accounted for 61.91%,and tri-syndromes for 20.64%.Conclusion:The syndromes of ovarian cancer are complicated,but are dominated by qi deficiency syndrome and blood stasis syndrome.In the clinic,single syndrome identification in the first place and then combining them together may be practical.
