Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for the content determination of triamcinolone acetonide in Triamcinolone urea cream. METHODS:UV-visible spectrophotometry was adopted. Using triphenyltetrazolium chloride and tetramethylammonium hydroxide as reaction solution, ethanol as solvent, triamcinolone acetonide was determined at 485 nm. RESULTS:The linear range of triamcinolone acetonide was 4.992-22.464 μ g/ml(r=0.999 9) with an average recovery of 100.21%(RSD=0.63%,n=9).CONCLUSIONS:The method is simple, sensitive and accurate, and it is suitable for quality control of the preparation.
