Abstract

The present study attempts to investigate into the use and teaching of English learning strategies among college English teachers and students via questionnaires and follow-up interview.The results show that students use memory strategies,cognitive strategies and compensation strategies in a relatively high frequency, while affective strategies and social strategies are used in less tendency,and teachers show much higher tendency in applying and teaching different kinds of strategies.There exist significant differences in teachers' teaching and students' use of four types of strategies.
