Research on Ecological Capacity of Huludao City

This article introduces the theories of the ecological footprint,calculation methods and the ecological footprint index,and then calculates the ecological capacity of Huludao City.Research results show that: per capita ecological footprint is 2.3764 hm~2,and ecological footprint of the whole city is 642.2529 *10~4hm~2,and per capita ecological capacity is 0.5956 hm~2,and ecological capacity of the whole city is 160.9147 *10~4hm~2,and per capita ecological deficit is 1.7808 hm~2,and ecological deficit of the whole city is 481.3382 *10~4hm~2.The fast development of economy is achieved by excessive consumption of resources and destruction of ecological environment,the development of economic society in this district is not sustainable development.The ecological footprint provided a kind of cheap and fast calculation frame for the ecological capacity studies,and it is the simple,comprehensive and practical to calculate the ecological capacity of Huludao City.
