Abstract
AIM: To study the expression of CD99 of Reed-Sternberg cells in classical Hodgkin’s lymphoma (cHL). METHODS: Eight cHL cases were confirmed according to the new WHO pathological classification. Immunohistochemistry for CD99 was performed with SABC method, and the CD99 expression of cell lines was tested by flow cytometer. RESULTS: The positive expression of CD99 was 0% (0/8). The CD99 expression of DG75 and Jurkat cell lines was (87.3±0.4)% and (96.8±0.6)%, and the CD99 expression of L428 cell line was (3.8±0.4)%. The CD99 expression of HDLM-2 cell line was (66.4±0.3)%. CONCLUSION: Down-expression of CD99 in H-RS cells may be a useful index for the diagnosis of classical Hodgkin’s lymohoma.
