Abstract

Objective To examine the relationship between Internet outreach and sexual risk behaviors among men who have sex with men(MSM) in a small city.Methods Convenience sampling and snowball sampling were used to select respondents;questionnire was used during the research.Results A total of 214 MSM completed the investigation.54.6% of them have ever sexual partners through Internet outreach.Nearly 80% of them had sex with other MSM who got to know each other through the Internet.In the last time,the rate of unprotected anus sex or oral sex of MSM who frequently use the Internet are 49.2% or 94.1% respectively.35.4% or 2.9% used condoms persistently within the recent year.Conclusions The use of Internet among MSM in the small city is frequent,high risk behaviors are common,so it is necessary to conduct AIDS prevention and the Internet may provide a cost effective way.
