Comments on outpatient prescription and analysis of irrational prescription in the hospital in 2013

Objective To increase the acceptability of outpatient prescription, guarantee medication safety, reduce inappropriate medication and maintain physical and mental health, rationality of the hospital's prescription in 2013 was evaluated. Methods 212 263 samples of the hospital's outpatient prescriptions in 2013 were retrospectively and statistically analyzed and assessed according to Rules for Comment on Prescription of the hospital. Results The acceptability of prescription was 97.2%. Non-standard writing and inappropriate medication were major causes of irrational prescription, which accounted for 45.23% and 51.29% respectively, while inappropriate medication and dosage occupied 35.9% of the irrational prescription. Conclusion There are still some problems with prescription of the hospital, so it is necessary to take effective measures for existing problems, strengthen comments on prescription, enhance physicians' communications, feedbacks and trainings about appropriate medication, so as to increase acceptability of prescription and develop physicians' acts of appropriate medication.
