Abstract
According to related data in Handan City during 1978-2008,the dynamic change of arable land-grain-population system was analyzed.The arable land pressure index was calculated,the dynamic change and causes were analyzed.The results showed that: since 1978,the arable land area and amount per capita in Handan City continuously decreased;the total grain yield and yield per capita increased;affected by that,the minimum arable land area per capita and pressure index indicated similar variation trend.Finally,strategies for releasing arable land pressure were discussed,such as maintaining a certain amount of arable land area,cultivating high-yielding crop and controlling population growth strictly.
