An experimental study of thoracentesis with mini-invasive disposable thoracentesis package

Objective To evaluate effectiveness of drainage with mini-invasive disposable thoracentesis package in animal experiment.Methods Sixteen healthy pigs were used in the study and pleural effusion model was established.Pigs were randomly divided into two groups,experimental group(n=8):thoracentesis with mini-invasive disposable thoracentesis package,control group(n=8):thoracentesis with common disposable thoracentesis package.The results of thoracentesis in the two groups were analyzed and compared.Results One case of pneumothorax occurred in control group and effusion quantity drained out with thoracentesis was more in experimental group than that in control group(P0.05).Conclusion Animal experiment show that thoracentesis with mini-invasive disposable thoracentesis package is safe and effective.
