Abstract
Based on the estimated carbon emissions from primary energy consumption during 1995-2010 in Tianjin, the Generalized Fisher Index model was used to analyze the changes from energy structure, energy efficiency and economic development factors towards the impacts of carbon emissions. Then, the decoupling degree was used to analyze the dependence from the economic development to energy and the changing of the energy-related carbon emissions. The research results are as follows. Firstly, the total carbon emissions caused by three kinds of the primary energy was increasing, among which carbon emissions caused by coal consumption accounted for the biggest percentage. Secondly, economic development was the dominant factor of carbon emissions growth, and always played a positive role in boosting the growth of carbon emissions. However, energy efficiency always had an inhibitive impact on carbon emissions growth. Although the inhibition impact caused by energy efficiency and energy structure had a strengthening tendency,it was still too weak to offset the growth of carbon emissions pushed by economic development.
