Zhao Shuli:A Middle Figure Between Modern Literature and the People's Literature

During the 1940s and 1950s,Zhao Shuli was lauded the literary figure representing China's literary orientation of his time.Parsing the literary qualities of Zhao Shuli's writings and the inner discrepancies therein,the paper is an attempt to discover how Zhao's writing contributed to the imagination of the self of the 1940s and 1950s and how the totalistic literary imaginations of the time clouded the inner complexities and contradictions of his literary works.
