Abstract

The purpose was to study the influences of different nutrition solution concentrations on the growth condition of cucumber seedling. The results showed that the plant had little leaf number, low biomass, big root/shoot ratio, lower chlorophyll content and root activity under treatment of lower concentrations(1/8 and 1/4 of nutrition solution),which was relative to deficient nutrition supply under low concentrations, thus slowing growth and development course.Under higher concentration(100% nutrition solution) treatment, the plant was high, had large leaf area, high biomass and root activity, but had little female flower numbers with high node location of first female flower. It was due to that too high nutrition concentration make vegetative growth too vigorous, which influenced reproductive growth. In 1/2 nutrition solution treatment, the plant had a relatively reasonable performance and could harmonize growth and development course better.
