Abstract
With the Yamasaki cucumber nutrient solution, effects of areoponic culture(AC),solution culture(SC) and media culture(MC) on the growth and development of cucumber plant were investigated. The results showed that the plant height, stem width and leaf area are higher than other cultures, the content of chlorophyll and photosynthesis were increase with AC,compared with the SC and MC,in the root, and the root length, root volume, bleeding sap volume and the contents of salt were increased with AC.In the yields, the number of average fruit set per plant, average fruit weight and average yield per plant could also be increased with AC.The results indicated that aeroponics culture might promote the abilities of growth, development and yields of cucumber plant.
