Abstract
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Ganpishu Mixture in the treatment of constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(C-IBS) of liver heat and spleen deficiency. Methods: Sixty subjects were randomized into two groups: treatment group in which 40 cases were treated with Ganpishu Mixture and control group in which 20 cases were treated with mosapride citrate tablets, with a course of 8 weeks. The clinical efficacy, the main symptom scores and quality of life scores were observed. Results: The total effective rate was 90.00% in the treatment group and 60.00% in the control group, with a striking difference between the two groups(P0.05).After treatment, the main symptom scores were decreased in both groups(P0.05),with more significant decrease in the treatment group than in the control group(P0.05);the quality of life was improved in both groups(P0.05),with more significant improvement in the treatment group than in the control group(P0.05).Conclusion: Ganpishu Mixture can improve the clinical symptoms and enhance the life of quality in the treatment of C-IBS of liver heat and spleen deficiency.
