Abstract

AIM: Candida albicans is the important opportunistic pathogens which biofilms are protected niche for C.albicans, where they are safe from antibiotic treatment and can create a source of persistent infection.Using fluorescence and confocal scanning laser microscopy,we observed the formation of Candida albicans biofilm, and analysis the biofilm formation by XTT reduction.METHODS: Candida albicans model strain ATCC 90038 formed biofilm structure on the glass plates in 6 well cell culture plates. The bioflm structure was observed by CLSM and fluorescent microscope. The quantitative analysis the of formation of biofilm was performed by XTT reduction method.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Canida albicans biofilm formation proceeds through three distinct developmental phases, and they can form mature and classic biofilm structure on the glass plates.
