The impacts of China's entry into WTO on its higher education and their countermeasures

It is a great event for China's entry into WTO, which will surely bring all\|round influences on all the aspects of the Chinese society. It will also bring direct challenges and indirect impacts on Chinese higher education as well. China has been accelerating the process of globalization of its economy since its entry into WTO, and the internationalization of higher education becomes an inevitable trend. Therefore, it is necessary to change some aspects in the Chinese higher education which are inconsistent with the WTO's requirements and set up the idea of the higher education's internationalization. And it is also necessary to continuously deepen the reforms in the fields of talent\|training, disciplines' and specialities' readjustments and science technology innovation so as to take the initiative to rise to the WTO's challenges to Chinese higher education.
