Expression and Clinical Significance of CD24 in Ovarian Serous Borderline Epithelial Tumors

Objective To study the significance of expression of CD24 in ovarian serous epithelial tumors,to study the development and progression of ovarian serous borderline epithelial tumors by molecule adhesion in order to determine the prognosis.Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to examine CD24 protein expression in ovarian serous borderline epithelial tumors(n=20) and malignant tumors(n=20) and benign tumors(n=12) of contrast group.Results Of the ovarian serous borderline tumors,the cytoplasmic expression rate of CD24 was 55%,which was significantly higher than those of benign tumors(0%) and lower than those of malignant tumors(85%)(P=0.0384).The difference was significant between every two groups.CD24 cytoplasmic expression significantly associated with the tumor grade in ovarian serous carcinomas.Conclusion CD24 may play a role in carcinogenesisand progress of ovarian serous tumors.And CD24 may predict the prognosis of tumors indirectly.
