Abstract
Objective The experiment was designed to elucidate the change in insulin like growth factor 1 receptor(IGF 1R)mRNA in the walls of pulmonary arterioles of hypoxic rat. Methods The expression of IGF 1R mRNA was detected by hybridization in situ technique on the walls of pulmonary arterioles in the rats with hypoxic pulmonary hypertension and normal. Morphological change in pulmonary arterioles was determined by image pattern analysis technique, the level of expression of IGF 1R mRNA was detected by semi quantitative technique. Results Compared with the normal control group, the walls of pulmonary arterioles were found to be thickened with both MT% and MA% higher significantly in the rat with hypoxic pulmonary hypertension ( P 0.05,respectively).The expression of IGF 1R mRNA of the pulmonary arterioles in the hypoxic rats was stronger than that in the normal( P 0.001).Conclusion In hypoxic condition, the level of the expression of IGF 1R mRNA in the pulmonary arterioles is closely related to hypoxic pulmonary vascular remodelling.
