Abstract

The structure and mechanical properties of polyamide 66/BASO_4 composites were studied in this paper, the effect of surface treatment of BaSO_4 was also studied. It showed that BaSO_4 both strengthened and toughened polyamide 66 and also acted as a heterogeneous nucleating agent.Compared with non-activated BaSO_4,tensile strength, bend strength and impact strength of composites were in- creased by 11 MPa,12 MPa and 9 kJ/m~2,respectively.
