Evaluation of penile hemodynamics with Doppler ultrasonography combined with oral Sildenafil

Objective To observe clinical value of Doppler ultrasonography combined with oral Sildenafil citrate in diagnosis of vasculogenic erectile dysfunction(ED).Methods Eight patients with vasculogenic erectile dysfunction(ED) group were included in ED group,while 10 volunteers with normal erectile function were selected as the control group.The penile hemodynamics was observed through longitudinal and transverse section scanning at the time of complete erection after oral administration of sidenafil citrate.The indexes included peak systolic velocity(PSV),end diastolic velocity(EDV) and resistance index(RI) of the deep artery of penis.Results The examinations and measures of all subjects were completed successfully.Compared with the control group,PSV of ED group decreased obviously.Conclusion The velocities abnormal of cavernous artery in vasculogenic ED could be found with Doppler ultrasonography combined with oral sidenafil citrate.The method is characterized by non-invasiveness,safety,easy acceptability,convenience and has good clinical application foreground.
