Abstract
The oogenesis, the histological structure and development of the ovary in Panulirus stimpsoni were studied.According to the size and shape of oocyte, the morphology and amount of nuclelus, the growth of yolk and the relationship between oocyte, follicle cell, and oogenesis can be divided into three stages as follows: oogonium, previtellogenic oocyte, vitellogenic oocyte and mature oocyte. The ovary wall is composed of connective tissue and germinal epithelium which will produce oogonium and follicle cell. The oocyte developmental area is the structure unit of ovary. The ovarial development cycle can be divided into five stages according to the bulk, color of ovary and the type of main oocytes: form stage, growth stage, prematuration stage, maturation stage and truce stage.
