Abstract

Polysemy,a common phenomenon in all languages,represents the economical efficiency of language.During the process of developing new meanings from the origin,metaphor and metonymy are used as the main way of thinking,which gives new meanings to the current word.This paper discusses the generation of polysemy and the psychological character using heart as an example.
