Abstract

Objective To evaluate the transcranial Doppler(TCD) for the diagnosis of ischemic cerebrovascular disease in comparison with the use of digital subtraction angiography (DSA ). Methods Forty patients were collected and examined by TCD and DSA. Results Four hundred and forty Cerebral vessels were examined. On the standard of DSA, the sensitivity of the transcranial Doppler examination for arterial stenosis was 88.4%,the specificity was 98.7%,False-positive was 7.6%,False-negative was 2.1%.Proportion of misdiagnosis in intracranial vessels and extracranial vessels by TCD was 2%. Conclusion For the diagnosis of arterial stenosis in intracranial vessels, the specificity and sensitivity of TCD would be relatively reliable, It’s valuable for the Clinical screening and the earlier diagnosis of Ischemic Cerebrovascular Disease.
