Clinical analysis of cross-meridian acupuncture for acute facial paralysis

Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of cross-meridian acupuncture for acute facial paralysis.Methods Sixty subjects were randomized into two groups: control group in which 30 cases were treated by routine treatment of acupuncture and medications,and treatment group in which 30 cases were treated by routine treatment and cross-meridian acupuncture,with three courses.Results The overall effective rate was 93.3% in the treatment group and 83.3% in the control group(P0.05).Conclusion Cross-meridian acupuncture can help acute facial paralysis.
