The Curative Effect of Chinese Medicine Rhubarb by Enema in Severe Acute Pancreatitis

Objective To explore the preventive and therapeutic effect of rhubarb and sandostatin on severe acut pancreatitis(SAP). Methods 40 cases of SAP were randomly divided into 2 groups.The control group( n = 20)and the treatment group(n=20).Routine treatments were given in both groups,the Chinese medicine rhubarb was used in treatment group.All patients were hospitalized to observe and compare between two groups.Blood samples were taken seven days after using injection of testing agents for biochemical test which in- cluded of TNFα,IL-1b,serum amylase,lipase,leucocyte and the time of abdominal distension releaving.Results Every record of the treat- ment group was better than control group.Conclusion The chinese medicine rhubarb showed their protective effects on gut barrier function by alleviating the damage the intestinal mucosa following acute pancreatitis.As a result ,the chance of bacterial translocation and enterogen- ic infection declined.These preparation might raise the treatment effects,as a well ,shorten the course of treatment.
