Clinical analysis of the therapeutic effect of sometostatin and rhubarb in patient with acute pancreatitis

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of rhubarb on acute pancreatitis (AP). Methods76 patients with AP were randomly divided into rhubarb treatment group and control group. Patients in control group received routine treatment and patients in rhubarb group received routine treatment plus rhubarb therapy. Results In contrast with control group,the relieving time of abdominal was significantly shorter in rhubarb group than that in control group(P0.05),the recovery time of peramylasemia,hyperamylaseuria and bowel sound were significantly shorter in rhubarb group than those in control group(P0.05). Conclusion Rhubarb in treatment of acute pancrestitis is simple,cheap and effective drug and is worthy to be widely used.
