Abstract
Chinese Classics has been one of the top concerns of the academic and cultural circles and even of the masses in recent years. However, there have been some mistaken ideas related to the enthusiasm for Chinese Classics ever since its formation in the 1990s.Some people fail to tell the difference between denotation and connotation of Chinese Classics, entitling themselves or others masters in an easy manner. They even misunderstand the relationship between Chinese Classics and the May Fourth Movement, confuse the essence of Chinese Classics with the feudal dross, dislocate the functions of writings in vernacular and classical Chinese, and separate the study of Chinese Classics from contemporary inheritance. There must be solutions to the above-mentioned problems.
