Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the accuracy of Raypex 5 electronic apex locator in determining the working length of primary teeth. Methods: Ninty sound extracted primary teeth(144 total root canals, including 74 canals with visible resorption and 70 canals without) were selected. The teeth were embedded in an alginate model and electronic length were determined with Raypex 5 apex locator.Root canal lengths were measured visually to judge the accuracy of electronic reading. Results: The accuracy of Raypex 5 electronic apex locator in measuring the working length of primary teeth was 95.7% in group A and 91.9% in group B(P0.05).Conclusion: Raypex 5 is useful in determining the working length in primary teeth.
