Abstract
Objective To assess the accuracy of Raypex5 electronic apex locator in measuring root canal working length.Methods there were 502 root canals of 236 patients were randomly divided into two groups.Raypex5 electronic apex locator was used to measure root canal working length in experimental group,while X-ray measurement was used in control group.All canals were prepared and filled.The accuracy was evaluated by radiological observation.Results The successful ratio of root canal therapy of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P0.05),but there were no significant differences between the front teeth group,the premolar group and the molar group respectively(P0.05).Conclusion The Raypex5 apex locator can be more accurate in tooth root canal length measuring.
