Abstract
In multipath environments,ultra-wide band signals suffer from severe time dispretion.RAKE reception is an important way to boost the performance of ultra-wide band receivers. In this paper, characteristics of the multipath channel response of ultra-wide band(UWB) communication system are introduced. With the assumption that TH-PPM modulation is used, the BER performance and system complexity of RAKE reception in Intel channel model are analyzed. The performance of S-RAKE is better than that of P-RAKE,they both are related to the fingers of RAKE receiver. The difference of performance of S-RAKE and P-RAKE is reduced with the increasing of fingers.
