From Adaptation to Nature to Soul' s Liberation from Body: Difference in Poetry Creation Between Tao Yuanming and Wang Wei

Both Tao Yuanming and Wang Wei are pastoral poets. However, they assume different attitudes towards pastoral poetry. Tao adapts himself to his nature, showing spirits of realism. His poems are plain and natural. In contrast, Wang Wei assumes an appreciative attitude towards pastoral life, showing much of the characters typical of intellectuals and poets. His writing is delicate and polished in style.
