Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effects of rosuvastatin on ventricular remodeling and cardiomyo- cyte apoptosis after myocardial infarction. Methods:A total of 45 male New Zealand albino rabbits were randomly divided into three groups:sham operation group(S,n=15),AMI control group(MI,n=15) and AMI rosuvastatin intervention group(R,n=15).AMI models were made with the ligation of left anterior descending coronary artery in MI and R group.Rabbits in R group were administered rosuvastatin via direct gastric gavage 24 hours after the ligation according to 10mg/kg*d;while rabbits in the other two groups were administered distilled water of the same volume also by gastric gavage for two weeks. All the rabbits were immediately killed after transthoracic echocardiography, and their hearts were taken out, observing the pathomorphological change(HE),measuring the expressions of Bax,Bcl-2,by western blot.Results:①Transthoracic echocardiography showed that left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVEDD),left ventricular end systolic diameter (LVESD) in Group R were smaller than those of Group MI,but left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) were significantly increased.②Western blot showed that there were no significant differences between Group R and Group MI in the expression of Bax,however,Bcl-2 expression was increased significantly in Group R.Conclusion:Rosuvastatin increases the expression of Bcl-2 and improves the ventricular remodeling of rabbits.
