Abstract
A total of 401 species(including 7 sub-species and 22 varieties) belonging to 135 genera in 46 families were found in Huangshan Mountain, south of Anhui Province. Some 4 fami-lies,28 genera, and 184 species were new to Mt.Huangshan.The 10 most dominant families were Brachytheciaceae,Hypnaceae,Pottiaceae,Bryaceae,Dicranaceae,Meteoriaceae,Entodon-taceae,Thuidiaceae,Mniaceae,and Polytrichaceae, and the 18 most dominant genera inclu-ded Brachythecium,Campylopus,Entod, and Bryum.Based on an analysis of the geographic elements of the species, results showed that the East Asian,Temperate, and Tropical Elements accounted for 37.82%,35.13%,and 26.75% of the whole moss flora, respectively. The flora therefore presented transitional features from the subtropical zone to the temperate zone.
