Abstract

Harmonic detection is the key to suppress dynamic harmonic.p-q and ip-iq are two harmonic detection methods based on the theory of instantaneous reactive power. The simulation models of these methods are built in this paper.Simulation and comparison are done with or without voltages distortion in power system. The results indicate that in both cases harmonic component can be measured accurately from load current by ip-iq method, while the fundamental component and harmonic component can be separated from load current by p-q method only under undistorted voltages in power system. The works in this paper can provide the theoretical basis for choosing harmonic detecting methods reasonablely in the process of suppressing harmonic.
