Detection of High Sensitivity C-reactive Protein in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Its Clinical Significance

Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of serum high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)detected in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods The serum hs-CRP in COPD patients(n=72)and normal control(n=35)was detected.Results The levels of serum hs-CRP of COPD patients in acute exacerbation phase and stable phase were higher than those of the control group(P0.01).The levels of hs-CRP in stable phase decreased significantly than those in acute exacerbation phase(P0.01),but still higher than those of the control group(P0.01).Conclusion The detection of serum hs-CRP can be used to evaluate the disease and to observe the therapeutic effect of COPD as a sensitive indicator.
